Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS) in Washington (Lacey area) to drive safety programs, lead audits, investigations, and risk assessments while promoting a proactive safety culture. You’ll train associates, influence leadership, and champion continuous improvement in safety and productivity.

This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and data-driven decision making; candidates should have EHS experience or a relevant degree, plus First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field OR a bachelor's degree in an EHS-related background.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
• First Aid/CPR certification required or to be obtained within 3 weeks of start.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety programs with data-driven strategies and conduct safety audits and investigations.
• Deliver engaging safety training and drive continuous improvement in safety culture.
• Advocate for associate wellbeing and collaborate across all levels to implement safety best practices.
• Coordinate emergency response and support on-site safety during incidents.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain confidentiality in security-related matters.
