Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Virginia seeks a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS) to lead data‑driven safety programs, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring employees return home safely each day. You will implement innovative solutions to prevent injuries and promote a proactive safety culture.

You will partner with frontline associates and leadership to drive behavioral change, analyze safety data, and communicate findings to influence safety initiatives across sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field OR a Bachelor's degree in EHS-related background OR 6 months of safety experience at Amazon.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.
• Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues.

Responsibilities

• Drive safety programs through data-driven strategies, lead audits, investigations and risk assessments.
• Deliver safety training and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Develop relationships with associates and leadership to foster safe behaviors and best practices.
• Transform safety data into narratives that influence safety initiatives.
• Lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk up to 12 hours; assist emergency response and work in variable environments.
