Job summary

Essel in Napa, CA is seeking an experienced Working Foreman to lead our commercial construction team on active projects. This role requires hands‑on leadership, coordinating crews, and ensuring safety and quality on site.

The ideal candidate has TI or ground‑up construction experience, the ability to read plans, and strong communication with subcontractors and the Superintendent. Safety, schedule, and field documentation are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience as Foreman, Working Foreman, Lead, or similar field leadership role.
• Experience with commercial TI or ground-up construction.
• Background with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or other commercial construction subcontractor.
• Strong ability to read and understand construction plans.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to coordinate with foremen, subcontractors, and the Superintendent.
• Willingness to perform hands-on work with the crew.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily with other Foremen to review safety, manpower, scheduling, and progress.
• Lead crew and maintain productivity and quality.
• Assist Superintendent with daily paperwork and reporting.
• Complete daily jobsite entries and maintain records.
• Take and organize daily progress photos for subs/trades.
• Monitor progress and communicate delays.
• Coordinate work between trades to maintain workflow.
• Maintain a safe, clean jobsite.
• Perform hands-on construction work including finishing and cleanup.
• Help ensure work meets plans, specs, and schedule.
• Read and interpret construction plans when necessary.
• Identify conflicts between trades and communicate issues.
• Assist with maintaining project schedules and upcoming work.
• Support Superintendent with field operations and coordination.
• Ensure crews follow safety requirements.
