Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is expanding its Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) – CFO Services team in the United States, including Chicago. The Associate role focuses on delivering CFO services, interim management, and strategic finance solutions for private equity portfolio companies.

You will synthesize data, build financial models, and drive cross-functional initiatives with a focus on immediate impact.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of relevant work experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited 4-year institution.
• Strong expertise with data and analytics tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.
• Flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time at short/immediate notice.

Responsibilities

• Develop findings and make strategic recommendations.
• Synthesize meaningful insights from data, opinions, or facts.
• Lead time-sensitive projects by structuring work plans and guiding them through completion.
• Demonstrate strong Excel and PowerPoint skills in client deliverables.
• Support Treasury, Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Corporate Finance teams as needed.
