Job summary

ACSET in Muskegon County seeks an Assistant Manager to supervise the team and ensure effective delivery of Michigan Works! programs. You will support the Talent Solutions Manager and monitor service quality for job seekers, employers, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Services, Public Administration, or related field.
• 2–4 years of leadership experience in business or workforce administration.
• Computer skills to communicate with community organizations and agencies.
• Ability to read, understand, and monitor program expenditures.
• Analytical skills to identify operational problems and offer solutions.
• Interpersonal and public-speaking abilities for diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, problem solving and teamwork.
• Ability to handle customer complaints and maintain a patient, friendly service approach.
• Strong leadership for management, supervision and program development.
• Desirable ability to speak a language other than English.
• Physical ability to sit for extended periods.
• Knowledge of relevant human service programs and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and assistance to staff regarding proper customer service.
• Monitor and report staff performance and effectiveness to the appropriate manager.
• Understand and demonstrate proficient use of Pure Michigan Talent Connect and troubleshoot as needed.
• Maintain data and reports for weekly, monthly and quarterly performance requirements.
• Provide training and clarification of Michigan Works! regulations and required documentation to staff.
• Coordinate with Talent Solutions, Business Solutions or Talent Development teams as needed.
• Utilize One Stop MIS and MI Works program requirements effectively.
• Oversee daily operations and address front-line issues and concerns.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
