Job summary

Area Community Services Employment & Training Council (ACSET) located in Muskegon County seeks an Assistant Manager to supervise the ACSET Team and ensure effective delivery of Michigan Works! programs.

You will support the Talent Solutions Manager and manage staff performance, data reporting, and program compliance. The role requires knowledge of workforce development, excellent customer service, and the ability to coordinate with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Public Administration, or related field.
• Two to four years of leadership experience in business or workforce administration.
• Computer skills to communicate with community organizations and agencies.
• Ability to read, understand, and monitor program expenditures.
• Analytical skills to identify operational problems and offer solutions.
• Ability to interpret and apply public/private agency administrative policies.
• Interpersonal skills for effective communication with community organizations.
• Proven initiative, follow-through, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Ability to diffuse and assist with customer complaints.
• Strong leadership in management, supervision, and program development.
• Commitment to patient, friendly, participant-centered services.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle deadlines and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of phone etiquette; second language desirable.
• Ability to sit in one position for extended periods.
• Knowledge of relevant human service programs and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and assistance to staff regarding customer service.
• Monitor and report staff performance and effectiveness.
• Proficient use of Pure Michigan Talent Connect and troubleshooting.
• Maintain data and reports for weekly, monthly and quarterly performance.
• Train staff on Michigan Works! regulations and required documentation.
• Use customer tracking system and Salesforce effectively.
• Coordinate with Talent Solutions, Business Solutions or Talent Development teams.
• Understand and apply OS MIS and program requirements.
• Ensure compliance with organization policies and laws.
• Maintain professional relationships with ACSET staff.
• Participate in professional development activities.
• Oversee daily operations and address front line issues.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
