The Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation is hiring a Workforce Services Representative 1 as an underfill for a Workforce Services Representative 2 at the Fernley EmployNV Business/Career Hubs. The incumbent will progress to the next level upon meeting minimum qualifications and the approval of the appointing authority. This Workforce Services Representative 1 position will serve in the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) program. They will be responsible for scheduling and completing both initial and follow-up appointments in the RESEA program. The program assists unemployed Nevadans gain employment and provides basic navigation for the unemployment system. People in this position provide employment services, both in person and virtually, to job seekers and employers by registering job seekers in the EmployNV system, evaluating education, training and work history and assessing qualifications for referrals to business customers. Services provided include help with creating and updating resumes, skills testing and typing tests, job search planning and assisting clients with locating opportunities in the EmployNV system. This position also serves as a back-up for other office programs as required and the successful candidate may also be required to perform other duties as assigned. Basic computer and customer service skills are a requirement for this position. The ideal candidate will type a minimum of 30 wpm and have intermediate to advanced level skills in Excel.
Workforce Services Representatives provide a broad range of services in accordance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act; assist job seeking customers and business customers seeking qualified applicants; and provide priority employment services to eligible veterans and disabled veterans as defined by the Department of Labor.
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of general work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Under close supervision, incumbents receive classroom and on-the-job training in the duties described in the series concept for their relevant program area. This is the trainee level in the series which provides for progression to the next level upon satisfactory completion of the required training period, meeting minimum qualifications, and with the recommendation of the appointing authority.
