Job summary

FloridaCommerce is seeking a Government Operations Consultant II to provide policy direction, guidance, and technical assistance for Local Workforce Development Board and related workforce programs. The role focuses on developing training, evaluating regulatory impacts, and improving program operations in Tallahassee.

The position requires analyzing statutes, coordinating with agency management, and delivering high-quality guidance to improve workforce outcomes and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
• Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
• Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
• Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction, guidance and technical assistance for workforce programs which includes the development of appropriate training and providing the training as needed.
• Conducts research of federal and state statutes, regulations and other governing authorities to develop, review and update programmatic policies, procedures, guidelines, and state and local plans. Evaluates the impact of statutes, regulations and governing authorities on operations, identifies potential problems, and recommends appropriate action.
• Provides guidance and assistance to agency management, program administrator and staff in the management and operation of programs and responsibilities. Consults with management on the development and implementation of training and technical assistance to improve workforce program outcomes.
• Investigates, assesses, analyzes, and makes recommendation(s) to resolve issues and problems presented by management staff. Consults with staff members to develop solutions for programmatic operational problems.
