Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a coordinated Site Planner in Reston, VA to support large-scale power project execution. The role starts in Reston and will mobilize to the Ohio site, working with Field Engineering, Superintendents, and Project Controls to align labor, materials, and schedules for phased energization.

You will develop AWP and IWPs, leverage 4D scheduling tools, and ensure readiness while maintaining safety and quality. Experience with Primavera P6 and 4D planning is required.

Project Overview

The project is a 1.3 GW simple-cycle power generation facility located in Millersport, Ohio, being constructed adjacent to a hyperscale data center campus. The facility includes multiple power generation technologies consisting of Solar Titan 130 gas turbines, Siemens SGT800 gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, and associated balance of plant infrastructure.

The scope includes major civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, underground utility, control systems, and commissioning works required to support phased energization and turnover of the facility. Construction will be executed through a combination of direct hire and subcontracted labor supported by modularization, pre-assembly, offsite warehousing, and advanced work packaging methodologies.

Job Summary

Supports construction execution through the development and maintenance of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), Installation Work Packages (IWPs), construction readiness plans, and workface planning activities. Utilizes 4D scheduling and visualization tools to support construction sequencing, identify constraints, improve productivity, and ensure work fronts are ready for execution.

Coordinates closely with Field Engineering, Superintendents, Project Controls, Supply Chain, and Construction teams to forecast upcoming work, track constraints, support hydrotest planning, and ensure labor, materials, equipment, and engineering deliverables are aligned with construction priorities. This role will Start in Reston,VA then moblize to the site in Ohio.

Major Responsibilities

Material Management

• Initiates requisitions for field purchases
• Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.

Quantities

• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.

Safety / Quality Control

• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.

Technical

• Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
