Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Workface Planner & Hydrotest Coordinator for the Maple Creek Combined Cycle Power Project in Indiana. You will develop Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), IWPs, hydrotest planning, and readiness activities, coordinating across construction, field engineering, project controls, supply chain, startup, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or international equivalent and 2–5 years of relevant experience or 6–9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Understanding of construction sequencing and workface planning principles with AWP/WP packages.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software and 4D planning tools.

Responsibilities

Project Overview:

The Infrastructure GBU's Renewables & Clean Power business line is executing the Maple Creek Combined Cycle Power Project, a new natural gas-fired generation facility designed to provide reliable, efficient, and flexible power generation to support growing energy demand. The project will be executed utilizing Bechtel's proven Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) execution model, integrated digital delivery tools, and Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) processes to achieve safe, predictable, and efficient project delivery


Job Summary:

The Workface Planner & Hydrotest Coordinator supports construction execution on the Maple Creek Combined Cycle Power Project through the development and maintenance of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), Installation Work Packages (IWPs), hydrotest planning, and construction readiness activities. Working closely with Construction, Field Engineering, Project Controls, Supply Chain, Startup, and subcontractor teams, this role is responsible for developing executable work packages, identifying and removing constraints, coordinating hydrotest activities, and ensuring field work is sequenced safely and efficiently. The position supports Bechtel's AWP methodology by integrating engineering, procurement, construction, and startup requirements into field execution plans that improve productivity, predictability, and readiness for system turnover and commissioning.


The successful candidate will initially support project setup activities from Reston, Virginia, and will mobilize to the Maple Creek project site in Indiana to support field execution, hydrotest coordination, workface planning, and installation work package implementation. #LI-SP1


Major Responsibilities:

Work Planning & Packaging



  • Prepares construction drawings and sketches.

  • Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.


Material Management



  • Initiates requisitions for field purchases

  • Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.


Quantities



  • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.


Safety / Quality



  • Control Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.


Technical



  • Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities System Turnover Coordinator For Direct Hire

  • Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.

  • STR / Subcontract Coordinator

  • Reviews and approves inspection test plans,

  • Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.


Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.


Required Knowledge and Skills:


  • Understanding of construction sequencing and workface planning principles

  • Familiarity with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), Construction Work Packages (CWPs), and Installation Work Packages (IWPs)

  • Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software

  • Experience with 4D planning and visualization tools (Synchro, Navisworks, or similar)

  • Preferred Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables

  • Familiarity with hydrotest planning, mechanical completion, and turnover processes

  • Preferred Ability to identify construction constraints and support readiness planning

  • Experience tracking quantities, productivity, and progress metrics

  • Preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and coordination skills with field and engineering teams Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other data analysis tools preferred Industrial, infrastructure, power, data center, or EPC project experience preferred
