Job summary

St. Francis Community Center in Toms River, NJ, seeks a WorkFirst New Jersey Program Coordinator to support unemployed and underemployed adults in gaining skills, credentials, work experience, and resources for sustainable employment and self-sufficiency.

The ideal candidate has experience in workforce development or social services, strong leadership and organizational skills, and a commitment to helping individuals overcome barriers to employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, Workforce Development, or a related field required.
• Experience working with diverse adult populations with employment, literacy, educational, or social-service needs.
• Prior experience in workforce development, employment services, case management, or human services required.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities, and meet documentation deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, electronic recordkeeping, and online employment platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assess participant needs and develop individualized employment and service plans.
• Provide career coaching, advocacy, work-readiness support, and referrals to community resources.
• Develop and coordinate CWEP and Work Experience placements.
• Facilitate workshops based on participant needs, employer expectations, and labor-market trends.
• Coordinate credential training, testing, registration, and completion documentation.
• Build partnerships with employers, training providers, government agencies, and community organizations.
• Coordinate with the Board of Social Services, One-Stop Career Center, and program leadership.
• Monitor attendance, participation, credential attainment, employment, and retention.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records, timesheets, statistics, and performance data in compliance with program requirements.
• Represent the program at partner meetings, community events, and workforce-development initiatives.
