Job summary

Passaic County Community College is seeking a part-time Student Success Coach to provide individualized coaching, case management, and workforce readiness training. The role supports recruitment, outreach, partnership development, and daily program operations in a grant-funded environment.

  • Minimum of one year of experience working with out-of-school youth, young adults, or similar populations.
  • Experience facilitating workshops, trainings, or group presentations.
  • Knowledge of workforce development programs, career pathways, employment readiness, and postsecondary education options.
  • Understanding of college readiness and career development practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Experience with case management and participant coaching
  • Knowledge of local workforce resources and employer engagement.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly one-on-one check-in meetings with assigned participants.
  • Develop individualized success plans and monitor participant progress toward educational, career, and employment goals.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and participant records.
  • Connect participants to supportive services and community resources.
  • Track attendance, participation, and program outcomes.
  • Plan and facilitate engaging workshops that prepare participants for education and employment, including career exploration and development, soft skills, hard skills, resume development, job search strategies, interviewing techniques, etc.
  • Schedule guest speakers, employers, and community-based organizations (CBOs) to provide workshops and career exposure opportunities.
  • Support daily office operations and administrative tasks.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain confidential participant files and records.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Student Success Coach will provide individualized coaching, case management, workforce readiness training, and college and career development services while helping participants achieve educational, employment, and personal success. This position also supports recruitment, community outreach, partnership development, and daily program operations. This is a part-time, grant funded position.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND BACKGROUND:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work, Workforce Development, Counseling, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with out-of-school youth, young adults, or similar populations.

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.

Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The minimum hourly pay range for this position is $18- $22.

  • New Jersey Sick Leave: Earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 40 hours of leave per benefit year. (Eligible to use after successful completion of probationary period.)
