Job summary

Northern VA Community College is seeking multiple Adjunct faculty in Allied Health to teach Phlebotomy, Medical Assisting, and Medical Billing & Coding at Loudoun, Woodbridge campuses. This part-time position offers instruction at campus locations with options for face-to-face, remote, and online formats.

Adjuncts teach up to 290 hours per semester; workload depends on enrollment and staffing needs. The contract contains no guarantee of continued employment.

Job Description

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. Teaching may include a variety of formats: face to face, remote, and online. . NOVA Workforce adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 29 CEUs/290 hrs during a semester. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment.

The Workforce Division is currently looking for multiple instructors in Allied Health in the following areas & locations:

• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)- Loudoun & Woodbridge Campus
• Medical Billing & Coding (CBCS)- Loudoun & Alexandria Campus
• Phlebotomy (CPT)- Loudoun, Alexandria & Woodbridge

Adjuncts teach both online and on campus skills lab. Course hours are taught based on candidates’ availability day or evening.

Essential Functions

As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction, the College expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations.
