Actual hiring and course assignments are contingent upon enrollment, scheduling demands, program needs, and funding availability. As a result, there may or may not be positions filled from this posting. Germanna Community College Center for Workforce and Community Education is currently accepting applications for part-time, non-credit, adjunct faculty at the following locations: Fredericksburg Area Campus, Daniel Technology Center, FredCAT Center, Stafford Center, and Caroline Center. The ability and/or willingness to teach online is a high priority need. Industry Certification, where applicable, in the subject matter taught, is recommended. We are currently seeking those who are qualified to teach in the following areas:

• Medical Office Assistant, Physician’s office Medical Coding and Billing, Physician’s office and/or hospital
• Clinical Medical Assistant, Physician’s Office: Didactic lecture (online/classroom); and hands-on lab skills
• Phlebotomy Technician: Didactic lecture (online/classroom); and hands-on lab skills
• EKG Technician: Didactic lecture (online/classroom); and hands-on lab skills
• Ophthalmic Technician: Didactic lecture (online/classroom); and hands-on lab skills
• EMT, Basic: Didactic lecture (online/classroom); and hands-on lab skills
• Personal Care Aide: Didactic lecture (online/classroom); and hands-on lab skills
• Health Care Orientation (3-hour industry overview class): online
• Ultrasound Technician: Didactic lecture (online/classroom); hands-on lab skills; clinical/externship
• CPR Instructor: classroom and hands-on lab skills
• First Aid Instructor: classroom and hands-on lab skills
• Doula Instructor: online/classroom and hands-on lab skills

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. We are seeking someone who is able to teach as a Workforce Instructor in Healthcare Adjunct both in-person and online. Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment.

This position is located in Virginia. Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent, reliable attendance.

Please note: This wide salary range reflects the diverse faculty ranks within the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). Final salary determination and placement within this range are based on the candidate’s academic credentials and occupational experience as evaluated via the VCCS-10 process.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
