Job summary

JEVS Human Services Career Center is seeking a Workforce Advisor at Suburban Station CareerLink in Philadelphia to help individuals enter or re-enter the local workforce through no-cost services. You will help participants become job ready by addressing personal challenges and connecting them with resources like childcare, transportation, work clothing, and counseling.

You will network with County Assistance Offices and community agencies, provide case management for a caseload, and support

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse clients
• Ability to assess needs and connect clients with community resources

Responsibilities

• Network and establish relationships with county assistance offices, community agencies, mental health and drug/alcohol organizations, and other agencies.
• Provide case management to assigned caseload; complete case notes and follow-up services related to employment, retention and termination; promote and schedule Center services for customers.
• Collaborate with the Integrated Job Development Team and its job developers to transition customers to appropriate employment.
• Assist Center customers with welcome, skills and employment functions; assess computer proficiency and assist in JobGateway registration.
• Provide advice to customers on job searching and skill development to improve competitiveness in the job market.
• Develop customized job search plans for each job seeker assigned.
• Other duties as assigned

Job description

Currently we have an exciting opportunity within the Suburban Station CareerLink as a Workforce Advisor. This is your opportunity to help provide no-cost services that help individuals successfully enter or re-enter the local workforce. As the Workforce Advisor you will assist participants in becoming job ready through the amelioration of personal challenges, including needed supportive services such as childcare, transportation, work clothing and counseling. Additionally you will assist customers with accessing resources in the community that will meet their needs.

Responsibilities:

• Network and establish working relationships with appropriate personnel at the County Assistance Offices, Community Agencies, Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Organizations and other agencies as needed.
• Provide case management to assigned caseload; complete case notes and follow up services regarding employment, retention and termination; recommend, promote and schedule Center services for customers
• Work with the Integrated Job Development Team and its job developers to transition customers to appropriate employment
• Assist all Center customers in any of the welcome, skills and employment functions; assess each person’s proficiency with using computers, assist in registration for JobGateway
• Provide advice to customers on job finding and skill development to assist customer with becoming more competitive in the job market
• Develop customized job search plan for each job seeker assigned.
