Futuristic Underwriters is a growth-oriented Managing General Agent (MGA) delivering innovative Property & Casualty insurance solutions to the U.S. middle market. We operate as a direct-to-agent MGA writing on affiliated paper, enabling speed, underwriting authority, and strong alignment with our agent partners.
As an affiliate of a financially strong and well-established organization, we benefit from robust operational support and infrastructure. Our strategy leverages technology to enhance distribution, underwriting efficiency, service delivery, and claims outcomes.
We are building a modern MGA platform designed for long-term, profitable growth.
We are seeking a results-driven Workers’ Compensation Production Underwriter to help launch and scale our WC platform. As a new MGA, we are initially leveraging third-party markets and established carrier relationships, with a long-term vision of developing our own underwriting capabilities and paper as the platform grows.
This role will focus on agency outreach and relationship development to drive submission volume and premium production, while delivering above-average responsiveness and service to differentiate Futuristic Underwriters in the marketplace. The successful candidate will also help establish the underwriting practices, processes, and culture that will support the growth of the WC platform.
The Production Underwriter will build and expand agent relationships through sales calls, agency outreach, prospecting, and consistent follow-up to generate new Workers’ Compensation submissions. The role will evaluate, quote, negotiate, and bind mid‑market and program accounts, analyzing payroll, class codes, experience modifications, loss history, and other key risk characteristics while maintaining disciplined underwriting judgment. The underwriter will partner with carrier markets to negotiate pricing, terms, and coverage, maintain strong communication throughout the underwriting process, and deliver a high level of service to agency partners. The role will also monitor production and portfolio performance and contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines, processes, and workflows as the WC platform scales.
Success in this role will be measured through agency outreach and relationship development, submission volume, quote activity, premium production, submission‑to‑bind ratio, hit ratio, responsiveness and service levels, retention, pricing adequacy, portfolio quality, and overall underwriting profitability.
If you thrive on agent relationships, hitting premium targets, and helping build something new, this is the role for you.
