Job summary

Portner & Shure, P.A. is seeking a workers compensation paralegal to support case intake, document filing, and research across NC compensation matters. You will manage client communications, organize medical records, and coordinate with insurers and clients.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2-3 years of workers compensation paralegal experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete client intake.
• File documents with the North Carolina Compensation Commission.
• Complete research to obtain documentation regarding prior work, medical records, and outside injuries.
• Submit client mileage, prescription, and any other reimbursements.
• Monitor treatment.
• Collect, review, and maintain medical records and bills.
• Communicate with Insurance Companies.
• Communicate with clients and provide status updates.
• Prepare exhibits for hearings
• Obtaining and organizing documentation required at different stages of the case
• Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the firm’s structure.
• Be a self-starter and have the ability to effectively manage multiple matters at once.
• Monitor cases on a regular basis and complete tasks appropriate to the stage of the case.
