Job summary

Jones Networking is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Paralegal for a well-established Personal Injury Law Firm in Charlotte, NC. The role emphasizes strong client communication, meticulous file management, and coordination of complex case documentation.

The candidate will support treatment updates, medical record handling, and settlements, while working within a collaborative, growth-oriented firm offering comprehensive benefits and work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of workers’ compensation experience in a law firm or legal setting.
  • North Carolina workers’ compensation knowledge required; South Carolina experience preferred but not required.
  • Professional, polished demeanor interacting with clients, attorneys, insurance carriers and other legal professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular client status calls to obtain treatment updates and document case developments.
  • Gather updated medical records and documentation throughout the life of the claim.
  • Process incoming/outgoing mail and route/document correspondence.
  • Scan and upload medical records and other documents into client files.
  • Communicate with clients regarding treatment, appointments, and case status.
  • Submit medical bills, mileage reimbursement, and prescription forms to insurers or defense counsel.
  • Coordinate second-opinion evaluations and medical appointments as applicable.
  • Prepare case valuation summaries and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate mediation preparation conferences and schedule mediations.
  • Prepare files for mediation and obtain outstanding records, bills, liens, and documentation.
  • Prepare settlement memoranda and organize files for settlement review/resolution.
  • Complete post-settlement file review and finalization of documents.

Requirements of the Workers' Compensation Paralegal:
  • Conduct regular client status calls to obtain treatment updates, address questions, and document case developments.
  • Request and gather updated medical records and documentation throughout the life of the claim.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and ensure all correspondence is properly routed and documented.
  • Scan and upload medical records, correspondence, and other case-related documents into client files.
  • Communicate with clients regarding treatment, appointments, and case status while maintaining accurate file documentation.
  • Submit medical bills, mileage reimbursement requests, and prescription reimbursement forms to insurance carriers or defense counsel.
  • Coordinate second-opinion evaluations and other medical appointments, as applicable.
  • Prepare case valuation summaries and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate mediation preparation conferences and schedule mediations.
  • Prepare files for mediation, including organizing case materials and obtaining outstanding medical records, bills, liens, and other relevant documentation.
  • Prepare settlement memoranda and organize files for settlement review and resolution.
  • Complete post-settlement file review and ensure files are properly closed and all necessary documentation is finalized.
Requirements of the Workers' Compensation Paralegal:
  • 3–5+ years of workers’ compensation experience in a law firm or legal setting.
  • Experience handling North Carolina workers’ compensation matters required; South Carolina experience is highly preferred, but not required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Gmail.
  • Paralegal Certificate or Adjuster’s License highly preferred.
  • Professional, polished demeanor with the ability to interact confidently with clients, attorneys, insurance carriers, and other legal professionals.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a positive, professional, and client-focused approach.
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, accurate, and committed to producing high-quality work.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
