Job summary

MGC seeks a full-time Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant to join our Jackson, MS office. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of related work experience; prior law firm exposure is preferred. Strong communication skills and fast typing/transcription are required to support attorneys and staff.

Responsibilities include logging mail in ProLaw, adding docket tasks, transcribing documents, and formatting pleadings. Benefits welcome diversity and professional growth within a technology-driven firm.

Qualifications

• Typing and transcription skills required.
• Strong oral and written communication expected.
• Professional, motivated, organized candidate preferred.
• Experience with ProLaw is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review/Log incoming mail using ProLaw and its dockets, e-mail mail to attorney and paralegal.
• Add Dockets/Tasks for Case Management Orders/Responsive Pleadings.
• Transcribe pleadings, discovery, letters, client reports at attorney’s request.
• Proof/format pleadings, letters, etc. prepared by attorneys.
• Document conversions (PDF to Word).
