Job summary

Talently in Orange, California, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney in a hybrid role. You will manage a diverse caseload, handle all phases of WC litigation from inception through resolution, and appear before the WCAB while maintaining clear client communication.

The ideal candidate is admitted to the California Bar in good standing, has WC defense experience, strong research and writing skills, and can draft pleadings and negotiate settlements and liens with efficiency.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Experience handling workers' compensation defense matters.
• Strong knowledge of California workers' compensation law and litigation procedures.
• Ability to take and defend depositions and appear before the WCAB.
• Strong legal research, analysis, writing, and case-management skills.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, reports, and discovery responses.
• Proven ability to negotiate settlements and resolve liens.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for workers' compensation cases at all levels of complexity.
• Handle all aspects of workers' compensation litigation from inception through resolution.
• Take and defend depositions and appearances before the WCAB.
• Communicate effectively with clients and provide timely case updates and legal guidance.
• Develop litigation strategies that support efficient and favorable case resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal reports, and other case-related documents.
• Negotiate and settle cases-in-chief, liens, and related claims.
• Manage discovery, legal research, trial preparation, and ongoing case administration.
