Qualifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• At least 1 year of workers' compensation defense experience preferred.
• Experience managing a caseload with minimal supervision.
• Strong deposition and advocacy skills.
• Experience appearing at hearings and handling law & motion practice.
• Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong commitment to client service and quality of work.
• Ideal candidate can independently manage a caseload while maintaining client service.

Responsibilities

• Handle workers' compensation defense matters throughout California and will have the opportunity to take ownership of cases, interact directly with clients, and handle a variety of litigation responsibilities.
• Independently manage a workers' compensation defense caseload with minimal supervision.
• Represent clients in workers' compensation matters before the WCAB.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions, including cross-examinations.
• Conduct witness interviews and develop case strategies.
• Handle hearings, appearances, and law and motion matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and analyze workers' compensation issues.
• Communicate regularly with clients and provide timely case updates.
• Maintain responsive and professional client relationships.
• Deliver consistently high-quality legal work while meeting case deadlines.
