Law Offices of Bob Nehora in California seeks a Workers’ Compensation Attorney with at least 1 year of California workers’ compensation experience. The role is in-office in Oakland and includes handling a full caseload and supervising a team of case managers.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license (required).
• Minimum 1 year of workers’ compensation experience.
• Strong knowledge of WCAB procedures and California labor code.
• Prior supervising or mentoring staff is a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation matters from inception through resolution.
• Negotiate and settlement of active cases.
• Appear at hearings, conferences, depositions, and trials as required.
• Supervise and provide direction to a team of case managers.
• Review case manager work for accuracy, timeliness, and proper progression.
• Communicate with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and settlement documents.
• Evaluate cases and lead settlement negotiations.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation matters from inception through resolution
• Negotiate and settlement of active cases
• Appear at hearings, conferences, depositions, and trials as required
• Supervise and provide direction to a team of case managers
• Review case manager work to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper case progression
• Communicate with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers
• Draft pleadings, motions, and settlement documents
• Evaluate cases and lead settlement negotiations
• Ensure compliance with WCAB procedures, deadlines, and internal workflows

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of workers’ compensation experience
• Strong knowledge of WCAB procedures and California labor code
• Prior experience supervising or mentoring staff is a plus
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while overseeing support staff
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
