Job summary

Orion Placement seeks an associate attorney to join a focused workers' compensation defense practice in Chicago. You will defend claims, develop case strategies, and support clients through hearings and settlements.

Applicants must hold an active Illinois license, have at least two years as an associate attorney, and at least one year in workers' compensation law. A hybrid schedule and collaborative team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois law license.
• 2+ years of experience as an associate attorney.
• 1+ year of workers' compensation law experience.
• Ability to meet Chicago hybrid schedule and travel requirements.
• Workers' compensation defense and legal billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Defend workers' compensation claims and help develop strategies for efficient resolution.
• Evaluate case records, research legal issues, and prepare legal documents and correspondence.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, and settlement discussions.
• Keep clients informed about case developments, legal options, and next steps.
• Collaborate with our attorneys while managing deadlines, case documentation, and billable time.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year

Location

Chicago, IL, with a hybrid schedule generally including one to two office days per week after onboarding. We'll welcome you into the office more frequently initially so you can get comfortable with our team and systems.

Note

An active Illinois law license, 2+ years of experience as an associate attorney, and 1+ year of workers' compensation law experience are required. Prior workers' compensation defense experience is a plus.
