Job summary

Orionplacement in St. Louis, MO seeks an experienced workers' compensation attorney to independently manage defense matters from investigation through resolution.

You will represent employers and insurers at hearings, depositions, trials, and settlements and develop litigation strategies. Active Missouri Bar license, 2+ years of workers' compensation experience in Missouri and Illinois, and ability to work in a collaborative, flexible hybrid environment are required.

Qualifications

• Active Missouri Bar license required.
• 2+ years of workers' compensation litigation experience.
• Experience handling workers' compensation matters in Missouri and Illinois.
• Illinois Bar admission or willingness to obtain additional licensure.
• Experience independently managing litigation matters, including hearings and depositions.
• Strong legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage workers' compensation defense cases from initial investigation through resolution.
• Represent employers and insurers in hearings, depositions, trials, and settlement negotiations.
• Develop effective litigation strategies and evaluate medical records, evidence, and claims.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal opinions, and case evaluation reports.
• Handle workers' compensation matters involving Missouri and Illinois laws and procedures.
• Build trusted client relationships through clear communication and practical legal guidance.
• Collaborate with experienced colleagues on complex litigation while developing your own practice.

Note

Candidates must have an active Missouri Bar license and 2+ years of workers' compensation litigation experience, including experience handling matters in both Missouri and Illinois.
