Zurich is seeking a successful Workers’ Compensation Defense Trial Attorney to work in our Fresno Staff Legal Office or fully remote anywhere in Northern California.

The attorney will be responsible for representing the company in all phases of Workers’ Compensation litigation in Northern California. Responsibilities include practicing law ethically, managing moderate to high exposure cases, working with claims professionals, preparing legal pleadings, conducting legal research, handling pre-trial discovery, and representing the company at hearings and post-trial activities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree and 5+ years of legal experience
• Member in good standing of the California State Bar
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Lexis or Westlaw
• Knowledge of insurance industry, claims, and defense litigation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Effective communication and negotiation skills

• Certified Workers Compensation Specialist designation (preferred)

Salary range: $140,000 - $165,000 with a 10% short-term incentive bonus. Zurich offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.
