Job summary

WeDriveU is seeking a detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to manage our national claims program in partnership with third-party administrators (TPAs), insurance carriers, legal counsel, and internal business partners.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years workers' compensation claims experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Three (3) years minimum in workers' compensation claims or related role.
  • Working knowledge of workers' compensation processes and regulations.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a portfolio of workers' compensation claims in partnership with TPAs, brokers, and insurance carriers.
  • Monitor claim activity to ensure timely investigation, appropriate reserving, return-to-work planning, and resolution.
  • Coordinate with internal/external counsel on litigated claims.
  • Participate in settlement strategy discussions and evaluate recommendations with TPAs, carriers, and counsel.
  • Review claim documentation for accuracy and policy compliance.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Operations, HR, Safety and others on claim status.
  • Coordinate with TPAs, medical providers, and legal counsel to facilitate claim management.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to reduce claim frequency and severity.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards and summaries for leadership.
  • Assist with audits, regulatory reporting and carrier/broker requests.

Position Overview

WeDriveU is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to support the administration and management of our workers' compensation claims program. The Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist is responsible for coordinating WeDriveU's national workers' compensation claims program in partnership with third-party administrators (TPAs), insurance carriers, legal counsel, and internal business partners. This role serves as the primary point of contact for workers' compensation claims administration, ensuring claims are proactively handled from initial reporting through closure while minimizing claim costs, supporting injured employees, maintaining regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a portfolio of workers' compensation claims in partnership with third-party administrators (TPAs), brokers, and insurance carriers.
  • Monitor claim activity to ensure timely investigation, appropriate reserving, return-to-work planning, and resolution.
  • Litigation Oversight - Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel on litigated workers’ compensation claims.
  • Settlement Authority - Participate in settlement strategy discussions and evaluate settlement recommendations with TPAs, carriers, and legal counsel.
  • Review claim documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Operations, Human Resources, Safety, and other internal stakeholders regarding claim status and next steps.
  • Coordinate with TPAs, medical providers, legal counsel, and other external partners to facilitate effective claim management.
  • Assist in identifying trends, recurring injury patterns, and opportunities to reduce claim frequency and severity.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and claim summaries for internal leadership.
  • Assist with audits, regulatory reporting, and carrier or broker requests as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and medical information in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of workers' compensation processes and documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable state workers' compensation laws, reporting requirements, OSHA coordination, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties and special projects related to workers’ compensation, claims administration, insurance, and risk management as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in workers compensation claims or a related insurance, claims, or risk management role.
  • Working knowledge of workers' compensation claims processes and applicable regulations.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing multi-state workers' compensation claims.
  • Experience working with TPAs, insurance carriers, or brokers.
  • Experience within transportation, logistics, mobility, fleet operations, construction, or other high frequency workers’ compensation environments.
  • Associate in Claims (AIC), Workers' Compensation Professional (WCP), or other relevant industry designation, or willingness to obtain.
