Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager to lead the city’s workers’ compensation program and return-to-work initiatives. This role ensures compliant, cost-effective claim handling and supports injured employees in safe, timely recovery and return to productive work.

You will guide workers’ compensation coordinators, collaborate with TPAs, medical networks, and departments, and drive program improvements through data-driven insights and effective governance.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or overseeing a return-to-work or disability management program.
• Strong knowledge of Texas workers’ compensation claims practices and RTW principles.
• Experience with complex, litigated, high-exposure claims.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the workers’ compensation claims program from initial injury reporting through resolution and closure.
• Provide leadership to claims staff and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Monitor claim inventories, reserves, payments, and medical treatment.
• Partner with TPAs, defense counsel, medical providers, and other vendors.
