Orion Placement in New York's Lower Manhattan seeks an experienced workers’ compensation attorney to handle matters from intake through resolution, advocating for injured workers and guiding them through benefits, medical care, and wage support.

This full-time, on-site position requires 3+ years’ experience, New York admission, strong communication, and the ability to manage a fast-paced plaintiff-side caseload.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of workers’ compensation attorney experience.
• Admitted to practice in New York.
• Strong familiarity with workers’ compensation claims handling and appearances.
• Ability to manage files independently and communicate effectively with clients.
• Organized, responsive, and comfortable in a fast-paced plaintiff-side environment.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle workers’ compensation matters on behalf of injured workers from intake through resolution.
• Manage files, deadlines, and case strategy across an active caseload.
• Communicate with clients regarding benefits, treatment, status, and next steps.
• Prepare and review filings, applications, and other workers’ compensation documents.
• Appear for hearings, conferences, and other proceedings before the relevant board or tribunal.
• Work with medical records, wage information, and supporting documentation to advance claims.
• Negotiate settlements and help drive matters toward favorable outcomes.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to move cases efficiently and effectively

This is a full-time, on-site position in Lower Manhattan, offering the benefit of working closely with an experienced legal team in a collaborative office environment.

Note

Must have 3+ years of workers’ compensation attorney experience and be admitted in New York. This is a workers’ comp role and not a litigation-side personal injury position.
