Job summary

Elgen Staffing is assisting a leading Northeast litigation law firm in recruiting a Workers’ Compensation Associate Attorney in New York. The attorney will represent clients at NYS Workers’ Compensation Board hearings, draft Section 32 agreements, address third‑party liens, Medicare compliance, and manage a caseload with deadlines.

Requirements include a JD from an accredited school, New York license in good standing, 2–8 years’ experience in workers’ comp or insurance defense, and excellent

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice in New York and in good standing.
• 2-8 years of experience handling workers’ compensation claims and/or insurance defense matters.
• Familiarity with NYS Workers’ Compensation Law and regulations.
• Experience with appearances at WCB hearings, medical depositions and drafting Workers’ Compensation appeals.
• Experience with drafting Section 32 Agreements, third-party liens, and Medicare compliance.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload independently, while meeting deadlines and court requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for maintaining ongoing client relationships and providing strategic legal advice.

Compensation: 110000.-150000. / Annually

Our client, a leading litigation law firm with offices throughout the Northeast, has an immediate need for an experienced Workers Compensation Associate Attorney, to join our winning team in New York.

Our candidate of choice will actively represent clients in courtroom hearings and argue cases before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. We’re looking for proactive problem solvers who are comfortable in a courtroom setting, have the ability to think on their feet, and possess strong communication and organizational abilities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice in New York and in good standing with the state bar
• 2-8 years of experience handling workers’ compensation claims and/or insurance defense matters
• Familiarity with NYS Workers’ Compensation Law and regulations
• Experience with appearances at WCB hearings, conducting medical depositions and drafting Workers’ Compensation appeals
