Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis on workers' compensation issues and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements for court hearings.
• Represent clients in court hearings and manage a caseload independently while collaborating with senior attorneys on complex matters.
• Maintain billable hours and manage client relationships, with travel to in-person hearings as required.

Based in Mt. Laurel, NJ, we are a multidisciplinary law firm known for its client-focused approach collaborative culture and commitment to delivering practical results. The Workers' Compensation defense team is expanding and seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join a growing team handling sophisticated workers' compensation matters across New Jersey. This role is ideal for a seasoned litigator who values substantive hearing work client representation and long-term professional stability within a supportive firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis on various workers' compensation legal issues while drafting pleadings motions briefs and agreements and representing clients in court hearings with accuracy and efficiency
• Assist in the representation of clients in motion practice conferences and trial while managing an existing caseload independently and collaborating with senior attorneys on complex matters
• Maintain billable hours while managing client relationships and caseload under supervision and traveling to court venues requiring in-person hearings as assigned
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient and effective case management while delivering timely practical and client-focused legal guidance throughout all phases of representation

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with active New Jersey Bar admission in good standing required
• 3+ years of workers' compensation experience required with demonstrated ability to assume and manage an existing caseload; familiarity with New Jersey State and Federal Rules of Court and Rules of Evidence preferred
• Strong organizational communication and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-volume environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 ProLaw Excel and e-document management software preferred with strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently and collaboratively; must be willing to work fully on-site until transitioned into the role with hybrid flexibility available thereafter
