Qualifications

• Admitted to and in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar.
• Minimum 3+ years of workers' compensation experience.
• Strong knowledge of New Jersey workers' compensation statutes and procedures.
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a workers' compensation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Develop defense strategies through thorough legal research.
• Draft pleadings, written discovery, motions, briefs, and other documents.
• Prepare for hearings, depositions, and other proceedings.
• Provide timely legal guidance to claims professionals on issues.
• Maintain effective communication with courts, witnesses, and clients.
• Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to advance cases.
• Aim for efficient, prompt resolution of matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage a workers' compensation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Analyze complex legal and factual issues and conduct thorough legal research to develop effective defense strategies.
• Independently develop and present litigation strategies tailored to each case.
• Draft pleadings, written discovery, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, court appearances, depositions, and other case-related proceedings.
• Provide timely legal guidance, analysis, and recommendations to claims professionals regarding legal and factual issues.
• Maintain effective communication with courts, claims professionals, witnesses, opposing counsel, and clients.
• Work efficiently toward the prompt and effective resolution of assigned matters.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other members of the team while maintaining ownership of assigned cases.

Qualifications

Required:

• Admission to and good standing with the New Jersey State Bar
• 3+ years of workers' compensation experience
• Strong knowledge of New Jersey workers' compensation statutes, case law, and applicable court procedures
• Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Preferred

• Experience using legal case management software and dictation tools
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Teams

$100,000 – $150,000 base salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
