Job summary

The California Department of Industrial Relations is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Assistant to support the Medical Provider Network (MPN) team. You will assist in initial review and analysis of MPN filing submissions for compliance with Labor Code statutes and regulations, and verify applicant eligibility.

You will prepare correspondences and respond to general public inquiries, while performing general admin duties in support of the Medical Unit.

Job Description And Duties

Under the supervision of the Supervising Workers’ Compensation Compliance Officer, the Workers’ Compensation Assistant will assist the Medical Provider Network (MPN) team in the initial review and analysis of MPN filing submissions for compliance in accordance to the Labor Code statutes and regulations, verification of the applicant's eligibility, preparation of correspondences, respond to general public inquiry regarding the MPN program and perform general admin duties in support of the Medical Unit.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting. Air conditioned, high rise building with elevator access, cubicle with natural and artificial lighting. Once formal training has concluded, part time telework may be offered upon approval by the supervisor and consistent with DIR's Telework Policy.
