BCM Law, P.C. is seeking experienced Workers’ Compensation Defense attorneys to join our Chicago, Bloomington-Normal, and St. Louis offices. This role offers mentorship, growth, and a long-term home where partnership is a real expectation.

Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school and active license in Illinois (Missouri for St. Louis); Wisconsin is a plus.
Experience handling workers’ compensation matters in Illinois, Missouri, or Wisconsin, including depositions, hearings, trials, and appeals.
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Comfortable with case management, legal billing, transcription, and legal research software.
Organized, self-directed, and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Manage a workers’ compensation caseload from intake through resolution, collaborating with employers and partners on defense strategy.
Maintain up-to-date and organized case files using electronic case management software.
Maintain regular and accurate accounting of billable time.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships through accessibility and timely updates.
Appear for pre-trials, trials, and appeals before relevant workers’ compensation commissions and civil/appellate courts.
Conduct direct and cross-examinations of medical experts and other witnesses in depositions.
Draft defense litigation reports, pleadings, and related legal documents.
