Qualifications

• Active Illinois Bar admission required.
• At least 2 years of workers' compensation defense experience.
• Experience with related personal injury matters preferred.
• Strong research, writing, analytical and case management skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to independently manage matters and work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload, develop effective defense strategies, and work collaboratively with colleagues while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Handle workers' compensation defense cases from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, negotiations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Evaluate claims, assess potential exposure, and develop appropriate defense strategies.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, claims professionals, and other relevant parties.
• Manage case deadlines, maintain accurate documentation, and meet billing expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide effective legal representation and client service.
