Government of the Virgin Islands is seeking a skilled administrator to collect premium receivables for the Worker's Compensation Trust Fund and locate delinquent employers for enforcement of insurance coverage.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Worker’s Compensation or designee, this employee is responsible for the collection of Worker’s Compensation Trust Fund accounts receivable.
An employee in this class is responsible for locating delinquent employers for the purpose of collecting overdue accounts, checking businesses for compliance with Worker's Compensation insurance coverage, and representing the department in court when cases are assigned. The employee is expected to use independent judgment in the performance of some duties. Work is continuously reviewed through conference, and appraisal of performance.Monitors and reviews underwriting practices to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
Conducts regular audits of underwriting files.
Collaborates with management to establish and enforce underwriting guidelines and standard..
Prepares reports on compliance metrics and presents findings to the Director, Worker’s Compensation.
Provides assistance in responding to regulatory inquiries and audits.
Works closely with employers to provide guidance and support on compliance issues, helping them navigate complex regulatory requirements effectively.
Conducts thorough investigations into suspected violations of compliance standards by employers and recommends corrective actions as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.
Associate's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of administrative support work experience.

High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution, and three (3) years of administrative support work experience.
Work under the general supervision of the Administrative Assistant/Supervisor or a Director who outlines the work assignments. Work is performed independently and reviewed regularly through conference and performance appraisal.
Guidelines include the Virgin Islands Code as it relates to the collection of premium bills and the enforcement of local laws, procedural manuals, departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Work involves a range of duties involving locating delinquent employers, collecting overdue accounts, checking business for compliance and representing the department in court cases. The employee determines the correct action to be taken and provides the agency with the proper instructions regarding its responsibility to the government and employees.
The purpose of the work is to enforce and collect premium bills for the Worker's Compensation Trust Fund.
Contacts are supervisors, employees within the agency, external agencies, employers, and the general public.
Contacts are made to obtain and exchange information and collect insurance premiums related to Worker's Compensation Insurance coverage.
Work is primarily sedentary but involves light to moderate physical effort including walking and operating a vehicle.
Work is performed in an office setting with some moderate field work.
