The Workday Technical/Solution Architect plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust Workday solutions to support an organization’s strategic and operational goals. This individual leads the technical vision for Workday HCM, Finance, and Adaptive Insights, ensuring scalable and efficient system architecture that supports organizational values and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on all technical aspects of Workday, including integrations, reporting, dashboards, user access, data mapping, and Adaptive Insights.
- Design and lead the implementation of technical Workday solutions aligned with best practices and enterprise standards.
- Provide technical leadership to developers and analysts while fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
- Manage Workday releases and upgrades, evaluate impacts, and implement new capabilities.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop solutions for complex challenges using automation and innovative technologies such as AI.
- Gather requirements and lead end-to-end testing to ensure solutions meet both functional and technical needs.
- Create and maintain system architecture diagrams, design specifications, and integration documentation.
- Develop efficient, scalable integrations and reporting tools within the Workday environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Workday or comparable enterprise platform leadership, including system design and project execution.
- Strong expertise in Workday integrations, data mapping, reporting, and tools such as Workday Studio, EIB, BIRT, Web Services, XML, and XSLT.
- Solid understanding of Workday security models, data architecture, and Adaptive Insights.
- Proven leadership in managing technical teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Experience with agile or iterative development methodologies and full project lifecycle management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:
- Workday certifications (e.g., Integrations, Security, Reporting, Adaptive Insights).
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Talend), Postman, Oxygen XML, BI/reporting platforms, and automated testing tools.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems in the higher education sector or similarly complex organizational environments.
