Position Summary

The Sr Advanced Solution Architect (Workday) role at Light & Wonder (LNW) supports aspects which operate and enhance the Core HCM, Security Administration, and Reporting & Dashboards functions of Workday in a global business environment.

In addition to specific ERP-related activities, the position will manage a team of Workday functional and technical resources, work with business leaders to collaborate and develop tactical and strategic HR operations plans. For day-to-day operations, the position will interact with the internal IT organization and external service providers to pursue multiple concurrent initiatives.

The Sr Advanced Solution Architect (Workday) will serve as support to the primary HRIT liaison to the business to understand business needs and help prioritize and lead the delivery team, engage with the business community, both internal and external, to determine needs and identify opportunities for system improvements, and maintain the business abreast of upcoming changes. The Sr Advanced Solution Architect Technology will interact with the Platform functionality team, internal COEs, HRBPs, networking teams, and external vendors daily to perform the job functionalities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Serve as a system administrator for Workday Core HCM, Talent Management, Security Administration, and Reporting & Dashboards, and be the go-to subject matter expert, providing technical leadership to People Capability Operations and Business teams in all aspects of Workday HCM.
  2. Participate and/or lead specific projects in an environment that values knowledge, openness, and transparency.
  3. Manage the deliverables of offshore delivery teams.
  4. Stay abreast of emerging trends and new functionalities related to the Workday product.
  5. Work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders to define requirements and develop robust solutions.
  6. Engage with functional teams for discovery and design sessions as needed.
  7. Design, develop, test, and deploy Core HCM, Business Process configurations, Security, and Reporting.
  8. Experience in designing and developing complex reports, including for integrations, testing, and support.
  9. Facilitate communication between business partners and project teams to refine requirements and deliver on project goals aligned with the long-term Roadmap.
  10. Provide support to functional owners and end users by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex system issues.
  11. Research and minimize reported problems or pain points within HR platforms, drive resolution, analyze security issues, and recommend corrective actions.
  12. Establish and adhere to strong Application Development Lifecycle (ADLC) practices, introducing best practices for requirements gathering, business processing, and solution design.
  13. Partner with internal team members to develop scalable solutions that improve HR processes and user experience, translating business objectives into clear requirements.
  14. Collaborate with vendors on software and cloud roadmaps, upgrades, and problem resolution.
  15. Create and maintain documentation, including Functional Design Documents.
  16. Implement testing to meet business requirements, including system testing and User Acceptance Testing, securing sign-off.
  17. Maintain reporting standards and coordinate reporting requirements across multiple Business Units.
  18. Deliver training and create training materials as needed.
  19. Assist in keeping development efforts within budget and deadlines.
  20. Qualifications

    Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, BSEE, BSCE, BSEET, or BSCS required.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in business systems analysis/engineering, solution design, and deployment.
  • 3+ years of advanced experience in Workday Functional Design and configuration development.
  • Excellent knowledge of Core HCM, Business Process Configuration, Security Administration, and Reporting.
  • Good knowledge of Core and Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent Management, Time Tracking, and Absence Management.
  • Experience with Workday Phase 1 & 2 implementations, understanding of functional design, testing concepts, and Workday business process frameworks.
  • Understanding of data conversion concepts and impacts on business processes.
  • Knowledge of all phases of the system development lifecycle, including new SKU implementation and support.
  • Subject matter expertise in the Software Development Lifecycle and operating systems for HCM.
  • Knowledge of US and Global data privacy laws, GDPR, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Experience with JIRA, ServiceNow, or similar ticketing systems preferred.
  • Workday Certification in Recruitment (current) preferred.

The targeted pay range for this role is $105,000 - $140,000, potentially including incentive compensation like annual bonuses. Actual compensation depends on factors such as skill set, experience, location, and internal equity.

Physical Requirements

Must meet physical demands to perform essential functions, with reasonable accommodations available. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, operate a computer, and have specific vision abilities.

Work Conditions

Light & Wonder operates in highly regulated gaming and lottery businesses, requiring compliance with licensing, background checks, and other legal standards. Employment may require background investigations and adherence to regulatory requirements.
