The Workday Report Writer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing reporting solutions within Workday HCM to support cross-functional departments and business stakeholders. This role will partner closely with HR, Finance, IT, and operational leaders to gather reporting requirements and deliver custom reports using Workday’s reporting tools. Additionally, the Workday Report Writer helps troubleshoot reporting issues and supports business users by providing insights through data analysis, while ensuring data integrity and compliance.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain Workday reports that enable data-driven decision-making within the organizationBuild advanced, matrix, composite reports, and Report-as-a-Service (RaaS) outputsPartner with cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirementsBuild and maintain complex calculated fields across HCM data sourcesValidate report accuracy and troubleshoot data discrepanciesAssist with Workday upgrades, testing, and report validationDocument report logic and maintain reporting standards and report catalogsEnsure reports follow Workday security logic to protect data privacy and complianceDevelop reports across the Workday HCM ecosystem, including HR, Payroll, Recruiting, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, and LearningCreate and manage Prism datasets, including schemas, data types, and relationshipsDesign derived datasets by joining Prism data with native Workday dataQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience3+ years of Workday reporting experienceExpertise in Workday Report Writer and calculated fields; hands-on Prism experience (dataset creation, derived datasets)Expertise in data analysis, report development, and a solid understanding of Workday HCMStrong working knowledge of Workday security, data sources, and report optimization to ensure accurate and efficient data retrievalAdvanced Excel skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills with close attention to detailProven ability to collect, organize, and analyze reporting requirements and translate them into delivered outcomesEffective communication and interpersonal skills; collaborates well with othersWorkday Report Writer Certification a plusCOMPANY INFORMATION: Motion Industries offers an excellent benefits package which includes options for healthcarecoverage, 401(k), tuition, reimbursement, vacation, sick, and holiday pay.DISCLAIMER:This job description illustrates the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this job classification.
