Job summary

Apexon is hiring a Workday Payroll Lead for a 12‑month engagement based in New York City. This role will be remote with the ability to travel to the Deloitte office as needed.

You will drive the design, configuration, and implementation of Workday Payroll, requiring a Workday Payroll certification and hands-on implementation experience. The ideal candidate will lead client discussions, maintain key documents, and manage risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on payroll

• Hands-on configuration experience in Workday Payroll.
• Experience designing, solutioning, and implementing Workday Payroll.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration and implementation of Workday Payroll.
• Drive client meetings and decisions on payroll design and configuration.
• Prepare and update design and decision documents; maintain RAID items.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve configuration issues.
• Support user story development, defect resolution, and validation of configurations.
• Travel to Deloitte office as needed, with flexible scheduling.

Role: Workday Payroll Lead

Location: New York, NY 10112

Position: 1

Work Arrangement: Remote, with flexibility to travel to the Deloitte office as needed

Duration: 12 months, with potential extension

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll Lead with hands‑on Workday configuration experience to drive the design, solutioning, configuration, and implementation of Workday Payroll. The ideal candidate will hold a Workday Payroll certification and have experience leading client discussions, driving key decisions, maintaining project documentation, and managing risks and issues throughout implementation.

Required Skills

• Experience managing implementation decisions, risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, solutioning, configuration, and implementation of Workday Payroll.
• Drive client meetings and discussions to reach decisions on payroll design and configuration.
• Identify, prepare, and update design documents and decision documents.
• Maintain and track RAID items throughout the implementation.
• Coordinate with client stakeholders and project teams to resolve configuration and implementation issues.
• Support user story development, defect resolution, and validation of configured solutions.


• Ensure Workday Payroll configuration aligns with agreed business requirements and design decisions.
• Travel to the Deloitte office as needed, maintaining flexibility based on project requirements.

Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
