Job summary

Synergy Staffing is seeking a Workday Payroll Systems Analyst to provide payroll-side functional and technical support for the Workday payroll module. You will configure earnings, deductions, and payroll calculations while diagnosing complex issues and ensuring timely, compliant processing.

Collaborate with HRIS, IT, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and external vendors to design, test, and implement payroll solutions.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of payroll, HRIS, payroll systems, or Workday Payroll experience.
• Hands-on Workday Payroll module experience is preferred.
• Experience supporting Workday Payroll in a functional, analytical, or technical capacity.
• Experience with U.S. and Canada payroll environments, or direct U.S. payroll experience with Canada support.
• Strong understanding of payroll concepts: earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, retro pay, direct deposits, off-cycle payrolls.
• Ability to diagnose and correct payroll-impacting issues in real time during processing cycles.
• Experience validating payroll results, discrepancies, and payroll audits.
• Strong Excel skills and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as payroll-side functional and technical support for the Workday payroll module.
• Support Workday Payroll configuration related to earnings, deductions, pay components, and payroll calculations.
• Analyze complex Workday Payroll issues and identify root causes.
• Diagnose and correct payroll-impacting issues in real time during payroll cycles.
• Partner with HRIS, IT, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, and vendors to implement solutions.
• Build and validate Workday payroll reports, dashboards, and ad hoc data outputs.
• Support Workday EIBs, data loads, mass updates, and related validation.
• Translate payroll requirements into system requirements, test scripts, and process documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation and payroll accuracy.
• Maintain documentation for payroll configuration and processes.
