The Workday Integration Lead oversees the design, development, and maintenance of complex integrations within our post-production environment. This role is responsible for the technical health of our global Workday ecosystem, spanning both HCM and Financials. The lead provides technical direction and mentorship to a team of three direct reports while remaining active in the development of sophisticated Studio solutions.
The lead acts as the primary technical authority for Workday Studio integrations. This involves managing the full integration lifecycle for HCM modules like Payroll and Benefits, as well as Financials streams such as Procure-to-Pay. In this post-production capacity, the lead prioritizes system enhancements, manages technical debt, and ensures all integrations remain compatible with bi-annual Workday updates.
This position manages a team of three developers, providing guidance through regular code reviews and technical coaching. The lead facilitates professional growth within the team and ensures that development standards are consistently applied across all projects.
The role requires hands-on development of high-priority integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs, and Core Connectors. The lead utilizes XSLT, XML, and SOAP/REST web services to manage data flow between Workday and external vendors. Additionally, the lead handles the troubleshooting of critical integration failures and optimizes existing code for better performance and reliability.
Candidates should have extensive experience in Workday Integration development, specifically with a deep focus on Workday Studio. Experience supporting both HCM and Financial Management modules is essential for success in this role.
A strong command of XSLT, XML, and Java-based logic is required to build and maintain custom Studio assemblies. Proficiency with BIRT for custom reporting and a solid understanding of Workday’s security model are also necessary.
The successful candidate will have experience managing direct reports or serving as a technical lead on large-scale projects. They must be able to translate complex technical requirements for non-technical stakeholders across the HR and Finance departments.
Experience with Workday Pro certifications in Studio or Integrations is highly valued. Familiarity with secondary middleware tools or experience in a global, multi-currency environment will also be considered an asset.
