This is a contractor role open to candidates based in Latam.
You’ll own the integration layer between Workday HCM and the payroll, benefits, retirement, equity, and engagement vendors behind a fast-growing commerce and logistics company that runs fulfillment for leading consumer brands, with a large hourly warehouse workforce spread across multiple business entities.
The work covers the full lifecycle. You’ll build and maintain bidirectional data flows using EIBs, Core Connectors, RaaS, and Workday Web Services, orchestrate multi-system flows in Workato, and replace manual spreadsheet handoffs with automation. You’ll also lead vendor rollouts end-to-end, from file specs and test plans through open enrollment cutovers and go-live support.
These feeds decide whether people get paid correctly and enrolled on time, so reliability is the job. You’ll monitor integration health, own L2 support, and fix root causes to keep business-critical feeds running at 99%+, working across People, Finance, IT, and Payroll with the autonomy to scope and ship on your own.
Hands-on experience designing and running bidirectional Workday integrations in production.
Production mastery of Workday Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs) and Core Connectors.
Working experience with Workday Report-as-a-Service (RaaS) and Workday Web Services (SOAP and REST).
Solid experience with Workday HCM core.
Prior hands‑on experience integrating HR, benefits, payroll, or 401(k) systems, including vendor file specifications, open enrollment cycles, and production cutovers.
Deep working knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, flat-file structures, and SFTP pipelines.
Experience securing integrations with OAuth and Workday Integration System Users (ISUs).
Daily production experience with Workato or a comparable enterprise iPaaS such as Dell Boomi, Celigo, MuleSoft, or webMethods.
Proven ability to own the full integration lifecycle independently: scoping, data mapping, building, testing, deploying, and supporting.
5+ years of Workday integration experience, or 3+ years of deep, high-impact Workday integration work.
Integrations for Workday Time Tracking and Absence, especially for hourly workforces: time clock punches, shift schedules, and multi-entity leave data. This one counts for a lot here.
Direct experience building Workato recipes and connectors.
Workday Studio experience for custom assemblies when standard tools hit their limits.
Workday certifications in Integrations, HCM, Benefits, or Payroll.
Experience with the Workday Benefits or Payroll modules.
Integration monitoring, alerting pipelines, and version-controlled runbooks.
Background in logistics, supply chain, warehouse management systems, or high-growth startups.
You know a payroll feed is someone’s paycheck, so you test terminations, leaves, and retroactive changes before go-live, not after.
You’d rather fix the pipeline logic than patch the data by hand in a spreadsheet.
You can take a vendor’s file spec and turn it into a mapping and test plan without waiting for someone to write the tickets.
You write runbooks that someone else can follow when you’re offline.
You can explain a failed sync clearly to People and Finance teams, without needing them to know what an ISU is.
May change based on various factors (role, profile completeness, etc).
