Job summary

ERPA is seeking a seasoned HCM Manager to oversee the Workday HCM delivery, lead a hands-on team, and drive successful implementation and post-production support for higher education and government clients. You will guide design, configuration, testing, and go-live activities, while developing ERPA’s Workday practice and client relationships.

The role requires 5+ years as a Workday HCM lead, Phase 1 and Phase X implementation experience, and relevant Workday certifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery for the HCM team and act as hands-on lead consultant across client engagements.
• Understand client requirements and guide design, configuration, prototyping, testing and go-live.
• Serve as SME for multiple SKUs and support Sales with demos and LOEs.
• Mentor and develop team members; conduct 1:1s and annual reviews.
• Partner with Engagement Managers to align status, communication and delivery.
• Stay current on Workday enhancements and best practices.

This role will actively contribute to the development of ERPA’s Workday practice, and we’re looking for an innovative, strategic leader with the drive to make ERPA a Workday partner of choice.Key Responsibilities:Manage up to 10 direct reports on the Workday HCM team while also serving as a hands-on functional lead Workday consultant across multiple client engagements with limited directionUnderstand client business requirements and provide guidance throughout design, configuration, and prototyping; and assist clients with testing and go-live activitiesServe as a Subject Matter Expert for multiple SKUs, supporting the Sales team with sales presentations, demos, and LOEsSupport clients during annual events (e.g., Talent/Performance, Merit, Open Enrollment, ACA) and maintain strong client relationships through trust and exceptional serviceCollaborate with Engagement Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project status, communication, and deliveryStay current on industry trends, Workday enhancements, and advise on Workday best practicesLeverage AI and emerging technologies to drive efficiency, enhance delivery, and improve client outcomesAssign and prioritize Jira tickets across the team based on utilization and overall workloadMaintain accurate forecasting and provide team utilization updates to leadership during the weekly operations meetingConduct regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports, providing guidance, support, and career developmentParticipate in annual performance reviewsActively participate in the hiring process – collaborate with Talent Acquisition on job requirements, review candidate submittals, conduct technical interviews, provide timely feedback, and lead onboarding training sessions for new team membersExperience and Education Requirements:Previous supervisory experience is highly preferredA minimum of five years of experience as a Workday HCM lead/partner consultant at a partner firm is requiredMust have experience independently leading at least two Workday Phase 1 implementations and two Workday Phase X implementationsExperience implementing Workday for Higher Education and/or State and Local Government clients is preferredWorkday HCM certification with implementer access is required and must have at least 2 of the following additional Workday certifications: Core Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Talent/Performance, Recruiting, Learning, PEXWorkday Partner certifications must remain in Active status throughout employment with ERPAStrong organizational skills are required.
