Workday Functional Financials Integration Consultant (Certified)
  • Charleston, SC

Workday Functional Integration Consultant (Certified)

Specialization: Workday Supply Chain, Procurement, Inventory, Financials, and 3 rd Party Integration

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced/certified Workday Functional Integration Consultant to support the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of integrations between Workday and 3rd party integration within a healthcare supply chain and distribution environment. The ideal candidate will have strong functional knowledge of Workday Supply Chain Management (SCM), Procurement, Inventory, Supplier Management, and Financials, with demonstrated experience supporting complex enterprise application integrations. This individual will work closely with supply chain operations, procurement, finance, technical integration teams, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate data exchange, business process alignment, and successful integration between Workday and Tecsys. The consultant will serve as a functional subject matter expert, translating business requirements into integration specifications and ensuring that interfaces support end-to-end supply chain, warehouse fulfillment, purchasing, and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Functional Integration Design

  • Lead functional requirements gathering, analysis, design, and validation for inbound and outbound integrations between Workday and Tecsys.
  • Collaborate with integration developers, solution architects, and business stakeholders to define interface requirements, business rules, data mappings, and process workflows.
  • Provide Workday functional expertise across Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Inventory, Supplier Management, and Financial Management.
  • Define system-of-record ownership, data validation requirements, and transaction processing rules across both platforms.
  • Develop functional design specifications, field mappings, transformation requirements, and exception-handling processes.
  • Ensure integrations align with Workday business processes, security requirements, approval workflows, and organizational structures.

Master Data Integration

Support the design, validation, and implementation of Workday-to-Tecsys master data integrations, including:

  • Divisions and Organizational Structures: Ensure approved organizational hierarchies, company structures, and division information are accurately transmitted from Workday to Tecsys.
  • Manufacturers: Support the creation and maintenance of manufacturer master data within Tecsys using Workday as the authoritative source.
  • Vendors: Define integration requirements for approved supplier and vendor master data, including updates and ongoing synchronization.
  • Replenishment Groups: Support integration of approved replenishment group master records and associated changes.
  • Item Master: Define mappings for shared item attributes, identifiers, units of measure, and other approved supply chain information.
  • Vendor Items and Catalogs: Support vendor-item relationships, catalog identifiers, purchasing attributes, and supplier-specific item information.
  • Customers and Requisitioning Locations: Ensure accurate synchronization of hospitals, departments, customer records, and requisitioning locations.

Procurement and Warehouse Purchase Order Integration

  • Support the integration of warehouse purchase orders originating in Tecsys and transmitted to Workday for procurement processing.
  • Define functional requirements for purchase order creation, validation, vendor association, and downstream procurement activities.
  • Support Workday-to-Tecsys purchase order change interfaces, ensuring approved modifications are communicated accurately.
  • Define requirements for warehouse receiving transactions originating in Tecsys and transmitted to Workday.
  • Ensure receiving results support Workday procurement, accounts payable, and financial accounting processes.
  • Support integration of invoice and purchase price variance information from Workday to Tecsys.
  • Validate purchase order lifecycle processes, including order creation, change management, receiving, invoice reconciliation, and financial impact.

Requisitioning, Order Fulfillment, and Distribution

  • Support integration of customer orders, requisitions, and inventory transfer demand originating in Workday and transmitted to Tecsys for centralized supply chain fulfillment.
  • Define functional requirements for order validation, requisitioning locations, fulfillment quantities, and transaction identifiers.
  • Support Tecsys-to-Workday interfaces for customer order, requisition, and transfer status updates.
  • Define mappings for shipping results, fulfilled quantities, shortages, substitutions, shipment dates, and other approved fulfillment details.
  • Ensure end-to-end transaction traceability between Workday and Tecsys.
  • Collaborate with distribution center and supply chain operations teams to validate warehouse fulfillment workflows.

Financial and General Ledger Integration

  • Support integrations required to transfer inventory-related financial transactions from Tecsys into Workday.
  • Define functional requirements for inventory journals, general ledger postings, financial dimensions, and accounting reconciliation.
  • Work closely with Workday Financials and Accounting teams to validate journal entry structures and posting requirements.
  • Support purchase price variance and other approved accounting-related integration requirements.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting while maintaining Tecsys as the operational system for warehouse inventory, without unnecessarily replicating warehouse inventory balances in Workday.

Integration Testing and Deployment

  • Develop and execute functional integration test scenarios covering all master data and transactional interfaces.
  • Lead or support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and end-to-end business process validation.
  • Validate field mappings, business rules, transaction status updates, error handling, and reconciliation results.
  • Identify integration defects, analyze functional root causes, and coordinate resolution with technical development teams.
  • Support data conversion, initial data loads, cutover planning, production deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Develop functional documentation, test scripts, process flows, and operational support procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience as a Workday Functional Consultant, Workday SCM Consultant, or Workday Functional Integration Consultant.
  • Strong functional experience with Workday Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Supplier Management, Inventory, and related business processes.
  • Experience implementing or supporting integrations between Workday and external enterprise supply chain, warehouse management, or distribution systems.
  • Strong understanding of purchase orders, requisitions, supplier catalogs, item master data, receiving, inventory transactions, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional integration specifications and data mapping documents.
  • Understanding of Workday integration capabilities, including Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Web Services, APIs, and file-based integrations.
  • Experience working with technical integration developers to define integration logic, transaction requirements, and exception processing.
  • Knowledge of Workday Financial Management processes related to procurement, accounts payable, general ledger, and inventory accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with integration testing, defect resolution, data reconciliation, and production deployment.
  • Strong communication
