GEICO is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Workday Financials team. This position offers an opportunity to build from the ground up and make a significant impact on the future. Responsibilities include design, development, testing, and deployment of various integrations using Workday core tools. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we shift from a traditional IT model to a tech organization focused on engineering excellence, fostering a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.

Our Senior Engineer is a key member of the engineering team, working across the organization to provide a seamless experience for our customers while maintaining high standards of protection and availability. Our team excels in delivering high-quality technology products and services in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with shifting priorities.

The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, including Workday Financials, Integrations, PRISM, Reporting, and Accounting Center.

Position Responsibilities
  • Manage system integrations within the Workday Financial architecture.
  • Support Workday inbound and outbound integration issues, modify existing integrations, and develop new ones.
  • Define product requirements and leverage your technical skills to find optimal solutions.
  • Collaborate across teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Lead design sessions and code reviews to elevate engineering quality.
  • Ensure data and application integrity through analysis, coding, documentation, and troubleshooting.
  • Translate business and functional specifications into technical solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, and support solutions using Workday tools and technologies.
  • Develop interfaces and conduct unit and integration testing.
  • Stay current with technology trends, participate in tech communities, and mentor team members.
  • Mentor other engineers and share best practices to improve processes.
Qualifications
  • Experience developing and enhancing Workday integrations, PRISM, and Accounting Center processes within the financial domain.
  • Proficiency with Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST).
  • Strong skills in XML and XLST.
  • Knowledge of Workday development tools (EIB, Studio, Report Writer, BIRT).
  • Experience designing and maintaining complex integrations.
  • Expertise in creating complex calculated fields.
  • Experience building scalable, resilient, and highly available systems.
  • Understanding of monitoring concepts and tools.
  • Experience with system architecture and design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with developer tools across the software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently or collaboratively.
Experience
  • 4+ years of professional software development within the Workday Ecosystem.
  • 3+ years of experience in architecture and design.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Salary Range

$70,000.00 - $185,000.00 annually. Final salary depends on factors like experience, education, location, and market conditions.
