GEICO is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Workday Financials team. This position offers an opportunity to build from the ground up and make a significant impact on the future. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and deploying integrations using Workday core tools. You will contribute to our insurance business transformation as we shift from a traditional IT model to a tech-driven organization focused on engineering excellence, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.

The Senior Engineer is a key member of the engineering team, working across the organization to provide a seamless experience for customers while maintaining high standards of protection and availability. Our team excels in delivering high-quality technology products in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The ideal candidate has extensive technical knowledge in Workday Financials, Integrations, PRISM, Reporting, and the Accounting Center.

Position Responsibilities

1. Manage system integrations within the Workday Financial architecture.
2. Support and develop Workday inbound and outbound integrations.
3. Define products and leverage technical skills to develop solutions.
4. Collaborate across teams throughout the software lifecycle.
5. Lead design sessions and code reviews to ensure quality.
6. Ensure data and application integrity through analysis, coding, and documentation.
7. Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
8. Design, develop, test, and support solutions using Workday tools.
9. Develop interfaces and conduct testing.
10. Stay updated on tech trends, participate in communities, and mentor others.
11. Mentor engineers and share best practices to improve processes.

Qualifications

1. Experience with Workday integrations, PRISM, and Accounting Center in a financial context.
2. Proficiency with Web Services, APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST).
3. Strong skills in XML and XSLT.
4. Knowledge of Workday development tools (EIB, Studio, Report Writer, BIRT).
5. Experience designing and maintaining complex integrations.
6. Ability to create complex calculated fields.
7. Experience building scalable, resilient, and highly available systems.
8. Understanding of monitoring tools and concepts.
9. Experience with system architecture and design.
10. Strong problem-solving skills.
11. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
12. Familiarity with development lifecycle tools (task management, source control, deployment).
13. Ability to prioritize and work independently.
14. Team-oriented and collaborative mindset.

Experience

1. 4+ years in software development within the Workday ecosystem.
2. 3+ years in architecture and design.
3. 2+ years with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Salary Range

$70,000 - $185,000 annually, depending on experience and other factors.
