Job summary

Aquent is seeking a seasoned Workday Developer to design, build, and maintain HR integrations and Extend apps. You will work across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, and Identity Management, ensuring robust data flows and secure processing.

You will own integration architecture, implement observable dashboards, and resolve complex production issues, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions for a large workforce.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of software or application engineering experience, with significant time spent on platform or enterprise systems.
• 4+ years of hands-on Workday development experience across integrations (Studio, EIB, Core Connectors), Extend, Orchestration, and RaaS/WQL.
• Highly skilled in building with REST/SOAP and GraphQL, and proficient in data transformation patterns (XML, XSLT, JSON).
• Demonstrated ownership of integration architecture, including event-driven patterns, API gateway patterns, and fault-tolerant design.
• Deep understanding of the Workday data model and security fundamentals (domains, segments, business processes).
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field (B.E./B.Tech/MCA), or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Support and build assigned integration and application work across HR platforms including HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Identity Management, and vendor management systems.
• Develop and maintain integrations with key benefits providers for Open Enrollment.
• Construct integrations, services, and applications utilizing Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and REST/SOAP/GraphQL APIs.
• Develop Workday Extend applications, including custom objects, validations, and orchestration-backed workflows.
• Implement observability for assigned integrations, including dashboards, metrics, alerts, and runbooks.
• Resolve high-severity production issues by identifying root causes and implementing remediation strategies.
• Coordinate the delivery of assigned workstreams, preparing design documentation and project estimates.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, documenting decisions and design trade-off rationales.

What You’ll Do & Impact You’ll Make

• Construct integrations, services, and applications utilizing Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and REST/SOAP/GraphQL APIs.
• Develop Workday Extend applications, including custom objects, validations, and orchestration‑backed workflows, aligned with company‑approved designs.
• Implement observability for assigned integrations, including dashboards, metrics, alerts, and runbooks, to meet established standards.
• Resolve high‑severity production issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective remediation strategies.
• Coordinate the delivery of assigned workstreams, preparing design documentation for review and providing accurate project estimates.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, meticulously documenting decisions and design trade‑off rationales within internal systems.

Key Projects You’ll Support

• Offer Management Integration: Build a new integration to surface offer data in Workday, supporting a larger redesign that will move offer letter generation into Workday Docs.
• Compensation Survey Management Integration: Develop a new integration between Workday and a selected compensation survey platform, replacing a manual spreadsheet‑based workflow.
• Immigration Integration: Create a new inbound integration from an immigration case management platform into Workday’s Visa module, ensuring accurate and compliant visa data for employees.
• Equity and Payroll Integration Enhancements (Schwab): Enhance existing Workday Schwab integrations to address payroll tax compliance, including local taxation, equity withholding corrections, state disability mapping, and readiness for international payroll.
• Contingent Worker System Integration: Close identified gaps between HR systems supporting contingent worker redesign, improving data completeness and automated processing of contract end dates.
• International Entity Integrations: Develop new integrations and data feeds supporting international entities, including payroll, benefits, and statutory reporting connections.
