Workday Absence & Time Tracking Lead

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workday Absence & Time Tracking Lead to support enterprise Workday implementations. This consultant will lead the Absence and Time Tracking workstream, working closely with project stakeholders to gather requirements, configure solutions, lead workshops, support testing, and deliver scalable solutions aligned with business needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on Workday configuration experience and a proven background leading Absence and Time Tracking activities throughout the full implementation lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Workday Absence and Time Tracking workstream throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into Workday solutions.
- Configure Workday Time Tracking and Absence functionality.
- Lead customer workshops, design sessions, demonstrations, and solution reviews.
- Provide guidance and recommendations regarding Workday functionality and best practices.
- Support testing, issue resolution, deployment, and post-production activities.
- Identify potential risks, dependencies, and configuration challenges.
- Work closely with functional, technical, integration, and project management teams.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior consultants when needed.
- Manage project deliverables and deadlines while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders.
- Support estimates and planning for Workday implementation activities.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of Workday Time Tracking and/or Absence implementation experience.
- Experience supporting at least three full lifecycle Workday implementations.
- At least 2 years of recent hands-on Workday Time Tracking and/or Absence configuration experience.
- Strong implementation experience; candidates whose experience is primarily AMS/support-focused may not be a fit.
- Workday Time Tracking and/or Absence certification.
- Experience leading a functional Workday workstream.
- Strong understanding of Workday business processes, configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Strong client-facing consulting and communication skills.
- Ability to lead workshops and explain complex Workday functionality to business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced implementation environment.
- Strong understanding of project delivery and consulting environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Time Tracking and Absence certifications.
- Experience with Workday Launch, Launch Express, or similar implementation methodologies.
- Previous experience with Kronos, ADP, or other workforce management/payroll platforms.
- Experience supporting post-production or post-deployment Workday environments.
- Additional Workday functional expertise across HCM, Payroll, or related modules.
