Black Hawk College offers Federal Work Study positions for eligible students. Duties include clerical tasks, customer service, and general office support across departments. Students must be enrolled and approved for Work Study, with GPA 2.0 or higher, and may work 6–15 hours weekly at Illinois minimum wage.
Non-Work Study roles may also be available depending on budget. Supervisors will review applications and scheduling interviews accordingly.
The Federal Work Study Program provides jobs for students at Black Hawk College demonstrating financial need. Eligible students typically work between 6 - 15 hours per week.

BHC students who don't meet the above eligibility requirements, may be eligible for non-Work Study positions. These positions are subject to budget limitations/availability of funds and are not always available. Duties vary by department/area. Examples of departments utilizing Work Study/Student Worker employees are:
Examples of duties include clerical/office work, using a computer and Microsoft Office software, customer service, answering phones, making copies, cleaning work areas/assigned areas, etc.
Other skills/experience may be requested or specified by the department and/or hiring manager at BHC. The supervisor or hiring manager of a department or area at BHC will review applications and contact you should they wish to schedule an interview. Anyone hired for Work Study positions at BHC will be required to complete an online employment application, a background check, and required paperwork with the Human Resources Department within 3 days of hire.

Work Study/Student Worker Employees are paid current IL minimum wage ($11.00 per hour effective 1/1/2021. Wage increases to $12.00 per hour effective 1/1/2022).
