Western Nevada College is hiring a Continuing Education Assistant to perform essential administrative tasks and provide exceptional customer service. The role requires the candidate to be a current student with at least 6 credits and eligible for Work Study funds.

You will handle documentation, filing, and coordinate with the Student Employment Coordinator. Compensation includes a $13.50 per hour rate, with typical weekly hours around 20; posting closes on 05/04/2026.

Job description

The Continuing Education Assistant is an essential element in the Continuing Education mission to empower individuals to be curious and become independent, innovative thinkers through completing administrative tasks and offering excellent customer service.

Work Study Required In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed, this position requires applicants to have been awarded Work Study funds. Work study funds are based on your eligibility determined by the FAFSA and are awarded as part of your Financial Aid package. Qualifications

Student Employment Eligibility

Enrollment in at least 6 credits each regular semester; and Be in a degree seeking program; and Meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements: 67% completion rate in the last enrolled semester 67% cumulative completion rate 2.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale Have not exceeded the maximum number of credits allowed (90) or received two degrees OR be on an approved appeal and on probation with an Academic Plan; and Be authorized to work in the United States

Summer Eligibility

Students are eligible to work during the summer if they meet the following criteria: Enrolled in at least 6 summer credits; or Successfully have completed the spring semester and enrolled in the required 6 credits for the fall semester (summer enrollment in this case is not required); and Meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements listed previously; and Be authorized to work in the United States

Compensation

Student Employee - Level 1 $13.50 Schedule: Hours per week: 20 during regular semester; during holiday break, summer, etc. Full-Time Equivalency 50% - 20 Hours Per Week Students may not work during scheduled course times Students may not work more than 20 hours per week (Sun-Sat) during academic periods in which they are enrolled (Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring semesters) Students may not work more than 28 hours per week (Sun-Sat) during break periods, in which they are not taking courses (summer break, winter break, and spring break)
